I chose to read chapter 2 of the Bedford Book of Genres because it is about narrative genres and I was hoping it would help me finish my personal narrative for project one. After reading this chapter I decided for my personal narrative I should use the rhetorical strategy of pathos to draw on the emotional parts of my story to make it more engaging for my reader. When I read about sources I realized I could incorporate dialog into my writing as a source in addition to me being the original source of my story. Style is another concept in chapter 2 that I incorporated into my project one, I felt that focusing on a casual tone for my writing was best because I want my reader to feel like we are just sitting down having a conversation and I am telling them my story when they read my narrative. Design is another important concept in chapter 2 and after thinking about the style of my paper I decided to use a normal font and font size in black and white because I want the focus to be on my story not the colors or type of font I use which can be distracting and disrupt the reader.
